The CLIMATE FRONTIERS (GTE) Ltd., is the brainchild of Plnr. Rohan Cooray, who is the founder of the association in 2023 with the purpose of promoting frontier technologies to combat climate change, enhance climate mitigation and adaptation initiatives in Sri Lanka. After going through rigorous process, the CLIMATE FRONTIERS (GTE) Ltd., is now being registered and shall be governed by the Companies Act No. 07 of 2007 of Sri Lanka.
Our aim is to establish a pool of national, regional, and international experts and specialists to provide and to explore the strategies to address climate change issues and engaged in climate change adaptation, mitigation, loss and damage assessments, means of implementation and disaster risk reduction (DRR) initiatives for sustainable, inclusive and climate resilient socioeconomic development using frontier technologies, novel business solutions, and innovations, and to provide assistances to programs and projects implementation, high quality capacity building and consultation services on all subjects related to the Company’s primary objectives, in accordance with national, regional, and global frameworks and standards.
To facilitate to design, formulate, launch, implement, and monitor resilience infrastructure and infrastructure development policies, campaigns, R&D, programs, projects and results oriented strategies for climate change mitigation and adaptation by promoting green growth development strategies, resource mobilisation for climate change adaptation and mitigation through collaboration with any private, public, and non-profit organizations at local and international level.
To improve the social well-being of marginalized and vulnerable communities affected by climate change and disasters by providing nature-based solution and supporting climate change adaptation and mitigation initiatives, as well as the advancement of science, systems, applications, and financing opportunities for economic development and social enterprise programs and initiatives.
To collaborate, affiliate, and cooperate with like-minded state and non-state organizations, including institutes, universities at all levels, including global and regional organizations, and the private sector (local and foreign), and to take steps from time to time deemed expedient to support the company’s primary objectives.
